What we collect, what we don't, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

This site belongs to Saints Colour Specialist & Beauty, a hairdressing business with three salons in Ireland:

For data protection law the controller is Saints Colour Specialists Limited, at the Ferns address above.

Questions, or any request below: info@saints.ie or 053 936 7795.

This website

This site is deliberately plain. It sets no cookies and has no forms to fill in, so there is nothing here to ask you to consent to. That is why you aren't being shown a banner.

We do count visits, using a service called Plausible. It is built to measure a website rather than the people reading it: it tells us which pages get looked at, roughly where in the world you are and how many of you reached the booking system. It cannot identify you, it sets nothing on your device, and what it collects stays in the EU.

Two others are involved. Cloudflare serves the site and keeps short-lived logs, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and block attacks. Each salon page shows a Google map so you can see where we are, which means Google sees your IP address on those three pages. It sets no cookies, and no other page here involves Google at all.

Links to Instagram, Facebook and our booking system take you to those companies' own sites, where their privacy policies apply rather than ours. Reading this site shares nothing with them.

Booking an appointment

Appointments run on Phorest, a salon booking system. When you book, whether online, by phone or at the desk, your details go into Phorest rather than to us directly. Phorest acts as our data processor.

Phorest hold your name, your contact details, your appointments and the notes we keep against them. They are an Irish company, and they say that data belonging to people in the EU stays in the EU, encrypted both in transit and while it sits there.

Your record in the salon

We keep notes so your colour is right next time — formulas, timings, what worked and what didn't.

Booking an allergy alert test puts an appointment in the diary like any other.

We keep that record while you're coming to us, and for a while after, so your colour history is still here if you come back. We hold it no longer than we need to, and we handle it the way data protection law requires.

Cameras in the salon

There are cameras in our salons, for the security of the people in them and the premises itself. The recordings aren't used for anything else.

Marketing

We send the odd text and email — an offer, something new, a reminder. They go out through Phorest, the same system that holds your appointments.

Every one of them has a way out written on it: reply to a text to stop, or use the unsubscribe link at the foot of an email.

Photographs

We ask before we take one. If you'd rather we didn't, say so and that's the end of it — it makes no difference to anything else.

Photographs we've taken may go up on our Instagram, and some of them end up on this website. If one of them is you and you'd like it taken down, email Louisa at info@saints.ie and we'll take it off, no reason needed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to:

Ask at info@saints.ie. It costs nothing and we'll come back to you within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can write to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963 — dataprotection.ie.
